Lips may not be as expressive as the eyes can be but that does not mean that you should take it for granted. The lips are where your words come out, and as sweet as your words can be, your lips should look healthy. Healthy and no chap lips are also beneficial to the health since (you might not notice it) our food craving are based on the condition of our lips. Here are some tips in keeping your lips healthy looking. First, moisturize the lips even when sleeping. Moisture is needed by the lips to prevent chapping and a moisturized lip could be achieved by drinking plenty of water and putting on lip balm. Many of the existing lipsticks today include moisturizers that can also prevent the lips from chapping. If your favorite lipstick does not have that much needed moisturizer, you can dab some lip balm first on your lips before putting on your lipstick. In that way, your lips will still be moisturized even if your lipstick does not have moisturizers. At times when you do not need much color on your face, you could put lip balm instead of lipstick on your lips. Before sleeping, dab some lip balm too. Chapping is frequent when the temperature drops, and we all know that the coldest part of the day is at night time. So, one should still prevent chapping even when sleeping. Make sure your lips are clean before putting lipstick or lip balm on it. The best time to put on lipstick is after brushing your teeth. Brushing teeth includes brushing the lips, too. Gently brush the teeth to get rid of the lipstick that you wore last time, and to exfoliate it as well. This also can lighten the color of the lips. If you cannot brush at the time you need to reply your lipstick, just use a clean damp cloth and wipe it gently on your lips. Make sure your lip brush is clean before using and clean it regularly as well Anything that is in contact with our lips should be cleaned, like lip brush, lipstick, lip gloss applicator, etc. as this will prevent bacteria from going on to your lips. Smoking destroys your lips. Every effort you made in keeping your lips healthy will be wiped out if you smoke. Smoking makes your lip color dark, which is not in a good dark way.
